Volunteer Checks

We work directly with high-school students. Therefore all volunteers with Embrace are required to complete both a Police check and Working With Children (WWC) check.

National Police Check:

All volunteers are required to complete a Police check. As Police checks are issued for different purposes, you will still need to complete a check with Embrace even if you already have a current Police check. The check is $14 for volunteers, however Embrace will cover this cost.

1. Police Check Application Guide:
   
   This document explains everything you need to do to complete your Police check. If you are a new applicant, you will need to complete the relevant steps listed here, prior to your interview. Please note that as of Nov 1 2008, significant changes have been introduced to the Police check application process. You will need to follow the instructions in this document to complete or renew your check.
   
   
2. Police Check Application Form:
   
   This is the application form for the Police check. You are able to complete it electronically before printing your form. Note that the form available here already has certain details filled in for you, it is therefore easier to use this form rather than the blank form available at the Police check website.

Working With Children (WWC) check:

All volunteers with Embrace are required to complete a WWC check application. The check is free for volunteers. Remember the sooner you apply, the sooner it will come back!

1. WWC Application Guide:
   
   If you have not previously completed a WWC check, you will need to download the WWC application guide and follow the relevant instructions to apply for your check.
   
   
2. WWC Change of Personal Details Form:
   
   If you already have your WWC check, you will need to download and print off a WWC Change of Personal Details form to take with you to your interview. Your interviewer will help you to complete the form in order to co-register your WWC with Embrace.
