If you are interested in or passionate about grass-roots activism, the power of education, and helping to improve the life of a disadvantaged student, then Embrace Education is the organisation for you! The core of Embrace involves facilitating University students to provide free tutoring and mentoring to disadvantaged high-school students in their local area.

Our students primarily come from a refugee or recent migrant background and face a number of unique challenges in completing their education. Part of the program involves offering support, and often a new friend to someone who may still be getting used to life in Australia.

We are always in need of more keen University students to offer their time as tutors. However we also recognise that Uni students are busy with their own studies and other commitments. That is why we offer three exciting programs designed to fit around your studies! With three separate programs running at different times during the week and weekend, chances are that we can find something that works for you.

Volunteers are not expected to give any more than 2 or 3 hours per week, or if necessary per fortnight in any program. No tutoring experience is necessary and you are never expected to tutor in any subject area with which you are not comfortable. All tutoring occurs in the suburbs surrounding Clayton, Melbourne.
