Summary
Embrace offers free tutoring to refugee high-school students and other students facing significant challenges to completing their education. We are looking for someone to further develop and manage our website.
Details
Embrace Education is a registered non-profit, Uni-student run organisation that provides free tutoring and mentoring to disadvantaged high-school students in Melbourne. We have a particular focus on assisting students from refugee and recent migrant backgrounds, as we recognize that these students often face extraordinary difficulties in completing their education.

Started in only late 2006, the program now offers significant tutoring support to students in need. In addition, we also provide students with material aid in the form of second hand computers, stationery, textbooks and calculators, as well as new items purchased through grant funds, to support their studies.

Our website is based on Drupal 6 and was set-up in 2009 by a Monash IT student. As he is now overseas, we are looking for someone to help us further develop the site. This voluntary position offers an IT student (or person with similar experience) the chance to use their skills to contribute to a Uni-student run not-for-profit organisation that is increasing the life-chances of disadvantaged high-school students, in addition to developing further experience in website module management and building.
